Check Out
This is where students will be able to leave small items that they may have brought to grad night but now don't want to carry around i.e. makeup, disposable cameras, etc. With all the games and activities planned for this special occasion, there are sure to be prizes or mementos from the different "time zones" which students may deposit in their bags in the Check Out area. We will also be "stuffing" the bags that the students will receive at the conclusion of grad night with items that have been donated for this purpose. In the past these items have included: discount coupons to local fast food &/or restaurants, lots of stuff from Sheriff department i.e. carabiners w/Sober graduation message, trial size packages of food items, etc.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! Typically grad night volunteers in this area work in shifts of two hours BUT you are welcome to stay longer. "CRUNCH TIME" for the check out area is dismissal time from grad night. We are in charge of matching student name with their matching bag, retrieving their bag, and directing them to exit in an orderly fashion.
I worked this area in June 2007. It was a lot of fun and we had plenty to keep us busy throughout the night. The area is located next to the "Crash Room" on the west facing wall in the gym. I hope you will volunteer a couple of hours in the Check Out area, especially in the early morning hours as grad night winds down and the class of 2010 exits the "Time Zone" at La Habra High School.
